A Village pub for all Occasions

Located between the M20 and M26, the Moat is a perfect example of a warm and friendly English country pub we all know and love.  The heart of the pub is our 14th Century Barn with its own private bar area, perfect for celebrations. A great place to stop off on your way to the coast, we’re dog friendly as well as every great pub should be, with a large garden, children’s play area, plenty of parking, roaring log fires, flagstone floors and oak beams, it’s cosy in the winter and glorious in the summer.

Opening Times

Monday – Saturday: 11.30-11pm
Sunday: Noon – 10pm

“It seemed a place where heroes could fitly feast after victory, where weary harvesters could line up in scores along the table and keep their Harvest Home with mirth and song, or where two or three friends of simple tastes could sit about as they pleased and eat and drink and talk in comfort and contentment.”

We Love Dogs & Walking

We love dogs as every pub should, so bring your pooch along with you, they’re part of the family too after all.

Sunday Roasts

We think ours are the best (apart from Mum’s!) and we spend all week looking forward to them. Freshly roasted every Sunday morning and served with seasonal veg, Yorkshires, roasties and gravy homemade in our kitchen.
